Not Your Every Day Spa

Every spa has its own thing, its own flavor or style.  Whatever you want to call it, each place has something to make it stand out from the rest. All spas have one thing in common – they are a place to relax, relieve stress, and generally improve your health.

Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary gives the following definition of spa: “4 : a commercial establishment providing facilities devoted especially to health, fitness, weight loss, beauty, and relaxation.” (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spa)

A great number of the spas I’ve seen in the local area seem to be focused on two pieces more than anything else: beauty and relaxation.  They do these things very well, and that’s wonderful if you don’t have any real problems to fix or definite health or well-being goals to achieve, or if your primary goal is really to be pampered. If, however, you are committed to using natural, holistic, or organic products, or alternative ways to achieve better health, better skin, greater comfort, you might need to look elsewhere.

At Purity Day Spa LLC, we work with pure, natural products to heal and fortify skin. Our bodywork sessions include a wide range of healing and massage modalities, all available in any given session. Our nail care product lines are selected because of their exclusion of some really nasty chemicals that most nail care lines include. Our goal is to help you achieve the greatest benefit in the most natural way we can.

When you enter the lobby, you can expect to be greeted in a friendly, professional manner and offered a warm or cool beverage. You will be asked to complete a health history form if you have never been to see us before (not necessary for manicures and pedicures). We will escort you to the room where your services will take place and we will discuss your needs and goals in private. During your session, we will make sure you are comfortable and we will check in with you on pressure, heat, etc.

You may be thinking, “This sounds like every spa I’ve ever visited.” Here’s where we step away from the norm. We aren’t looking to pamper you just for today. We’re not really interested in the pass-through, tourist industry atmosphere. That’s nice for added income, but it’s not really who we are. We are healers/fixers/advisors/teachers. We work with you on health and well-being goals and that almost never means a one-time visit. One massage, one facial, one manicure is only going to improve things for a short time frame. We want you to receive long-lasting results and that takes work – on our part and on your part.

At the end of your first session, we will work together to formulate a plan of care for you, starting with the recommendation made by your service provider. You may be advised to have another massage or facial cupping treatment within a few days, or your goals may be better served with longer gaps between visits. We will offer self-care options and instructions to help you increase and maintain the benefits of our services until you see us again. Over the course of time, we will adjust your frequency of visits as needed. Whatever type of plan we create, the intention is to help your goals become your reality. Your acceptance of our recommendations and your active participation in self-care will help make that happen sooner and more abundantly. Help us help you!
